William Henderson, MD

Obstetrician Gynecologist

An Oxford native, Dr. Henderson has been part of the Oxford Clinic for Women since 1999. His father, Dr. William H. Henderson, was one of the original partners of the practice, and his influence helped shape Dr. Henderson’s interest in women’s health and obstetrics.
Dr. Henderson earned a Bachelor of Science in philosophy from Millsaps College in 1991 before attending the University of Mississippi School of Medicine, where he graduated in 1995. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, drawn to the specialty for its unique blend of long-term patient relationships, surgical care, and the opportunity to deliver babies—along with the variety that makes the work continually engaging.
Outside of his practice, Dr. Henderson is an avid cyclist and a member of Oxford Cycling, and he encourages regular exercise as part of a healthy lifestyle. He and his wife, Monie, have four children: Madeline, Andrew, Isabel, and Susanna.

Dr. Henderson delivered 2 of my 3 children and is hands down the only male physician that I have ever felt comfortable with. He is competent, personable, and in my experience always on time. I highly recommend him to any woman.

I went with my sister to see Dr. Henderson. He has a great bed side manner!! He took his time and went out of his way to pin point the problem. I would definitely say he is a great doctor! He even delivered a baby in the midst of the appointment. His staff was very friendly and kept us updated! I would for sure recommend him if you are looking for a thorough doctor. His Dad delivered me which was an added fun fact for me.

Dr. Henderson is someone I highly trust and respect. I started seeing him in 2003 when I moved to Oxford. I had dealt with abuse in my past, so I had always been most comfortable with a female doctor. He was the first male obgyn that I’d ever seen, and to this day he’s also the only one. He’s always very professional and personable. He saw me through my first pregnancy and delivered my only daughter in 2004., supported me through the loss of two babies after,, and saved my life in 2005 when he ordered me to have a colonoscopy with no family history at the age of 30….5 precancerous polyps were found and removed. I highly recommend Dr. Henderson and feel blessed to have him as my doctor.
